Job Description
The Labour Data Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards that provide accurate, actionable insights on labour metrics. This role ensures that HR, Operations, and Management teams have access to real-time, visually intuitive labour data to support strategic decision-making.
This position is a national role and the successful candidate may be located across the country.
Education
Relevant NQF Level 7
Postgraduate / Honours Degree in Human Resource Management or relevant (NQF Level 8) is advantageous
Experience
8-10 years’ experience in data management, systems and technology, of which 5 years is in a management capacity
Knowledge and competencies
• Proven experience in data analysis, dashboard development, and reporting
• Strong proficiency with dashboarding tools.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with data manipulation and visualization.
• Knowledge of labour laws, HR metrics, and workforce analytics is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Key Performance Areas
Strategy Planning & Implementation
• Develop, maintain, and enhance labour data dashboards using reporting tools.
• Collect, clean, and analyze workforce data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Finance teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Monitor key labour metrics, trends, and KPIs, providing timely reports and alerts to management.
• Automate data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes to improve efficiency.
• Ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with internal policies and labour regulations.
• Provide training and support to users on interpreting dashboards and reports.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and dashboard functionality.
Stakeholder Management
• Establish and maintain strategic business partnerships with key internal stakeholders e.g. General Manager, Regional Manager etc.
• Partner with internal senior stakeholders to understand and advise on current and future labour stats needs.
• Act as a strategic advisor to stakeholders and collectively devise and deploy diverse Systems strategies.
• Lead labour Systems & targets meetings, conduct regular check-ins and debriefs with key internal and stakeholders.
Budget Management
• Monitor actual expenditure against the approved budget, providing variance analysis and preparing monthly reports.
• Assist General Managers in aligning their labour budgets with planned targets.
