Job Description

The purpose of the Regional Manager is develop and lead a team of managers within a geographical region or sector to provide exceptional service to our clients. Manage client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner ensuring compliance and company policies are adhered to. Drive foodservice and/or support service solutions that exceed new and existing customer requirements. To manage the profitability, sustainability and growth of Cleaning, Hygiene and Pest Control solutions for key accounts within the specified region, by optimising operations and driving teams and client engagement to enhance customer experience.  They monitor and review business performance and ensure delivery of key financial targets in line with management and performance (MAP) reporting. Demonstrate commercial value to your direct reports, line manager, Leadership and Executive teams, in line with the Supercare’s vision, values and overall business strategy.

Education and Experience required:

• Matric / Grade 12
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in a service, cleaning, retail or similar industry
• Experience in highly commercial and sensitive markets is compulsory
• At least 3-5 years management or supervisory experience
• A good understanding of costing, budgeting and profit & loss accounts
• Exposure to industrial relations
• Experience in key accounts management

Key areas of responsibility:

• Participate in quarterly business reviews with clients to understand clients’ operations and business requirements and to identify cross selling and growth opportunities.
• Implement cleaning, hygiene and pest control solutions and manage service delivery as per contractual agreements.
• Liaise with clients to provide updates on progress made or areas of concerns, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of the solution delivery in relation to SLA.
• Execute effective, innovative changes to elevate service and customer experience.
• Monitor compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
• Facilitate training and development of direct team in order to improve service offerings and maintain relevance.
• Authorise monthly wage input documents, new engagements, terminations and pay rate changes.
• Participate in monthly business review meetings with regional team.
• Continuously build good working relationships with clients.
• Regularly meet with the client to ensure success of contract.
• Attend all relevant meetings with clients and management teams and ensure communication to subordinates.
• Engage with union officials at the highest level.
• Prepare the budget for key accounts within the portfolio / geographical region in accordance with financial policy and procedures.
• Monitor expenditure against approved budget, providing variance analysis and monthly reporting for submission to the General Manager.
• Contribute towards the planning for procurement in compliance with supply chain prescripts.
• Authorise expenses aligned to the approved budget, as per Delegation of Authority.
• Participate in the recruitment of direct subordinates in accordance with company policy and procedure, and in consultation with the General Manager and Human Resources.
• Develop performance contracts for subordinates and conduct performance reviews, with the General Manager, to measure performance against agreed objectives, identifying training needs.
• Provide guidance, coaching, mentoring and advice to subordinates.
• Initiate and coordinate processes for discipline and workplace conflict, in consultation with the General Manager and Human Resources.
• Manage the administration of direct reports through the approval of leave and travel expenses, as per delegation of authority.
• Support the General Manager and MD with the implementation of change initiatives within the division to embed change within the business.
• Monitor compliance to company policies and the required codes of conduct, ethics etc.
