Overall Purpose of the Job
To manage the client accounts of the Supercare Services Group business for a portfolio / sector or geographic region. Responsible for service delivery across all internal and external clients through the management of Debt Collection and account maintenance of current contracts, and cancelled contracts where debt is owing.
Education (Formal Qualification Required)
Minimum Matriculation Certificate Ideal Certification in Debt Management and Collections.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years’ collections experience in the services industry, inclusive of managing a debt book exceeding 500 customers and 3000 billing events.
Position Description
- Providing Billing with updates on client files – including changes in e-mail addresses, contact persons, unit in charge.
- Ensure an account is correct before sending statements out internally to managers or externally to clients. Send copies of invoices, credits, statements to clients, or where required within the business.
- Reconciliations of individual debtor accounts.
- Sorting out of accounts in arrears through telephonic contact and reminder letters with the customer to determine reason for non-payment, or payment date.
- Identify potential credit notes/Letters to clients that will be required and flag these with the Billing & AR Manager.
- Take ultimate responsibility for the resolution of client queries in a timely manner.
- Attend meetings with the General Manager and Management accountant on the state of the accounts.
- Ensure the Age Analysis is up to date with commentary on each client in the prescribed format. Payment Allocations
- Following up telephonically and through email with clients regarding remittances.
- Accurate processing of all cash received in the bank account on daily basis – Ensure effort is made to keep bank updated daily.
- Ensuring no funds are allocated without remittance advices.
- Tracing inaccurate allocations and requesting reversal from the Management accountant.
- Partner with divisions to ensure debt exposure is kept to a minimum within the region.
- Manage integrated relationships between Operations and Sales to drive ultimate productivity and partnerships.
- Proactively engage with Clients to build long-term, profitable relationships within the region.
Competencies Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of Credit Management, the Credit Bureau, and Credit Act. Popi Act compliance is vital.
- Sound knowledge of SAP (Sales and Distribution Module) and MS Office
- Sound knowledge of risk management and business management principles
- Sound knowledge of Basic Financial principles
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety policies and processes
- Sound knowledge of Contract management
- Sound knowledge of data analytical methodologies with ability to reconcile complex account
