Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team of IT professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our organization's technical infrastructure. This individual will work closely with the IT Technical Team leader and other departments to ensure that all systems are operating efficiently and securely.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with expertise in cybersecurity and enterprise architecture.
- Strong technical background in IT infrastructure management and support.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and technologies.
- Proficiency in designing enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and DevSecOps practices.
- Solid understanding of network architecture, firewalls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency in managing network infrastructure, servers, and enterprise applications.
Cybersecurity Strategy and Implementation:
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure the organization’s IT infrastructure is protected against evolving cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments and risk analyses.
- Lead incident response and recovery activities in the event of security breaches.
Enterprise Architecture Design
- Develop and maintain the organization’s enterprise architecture framework.
- Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure the integration and interoperability of systems across the organization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement network systems, servers, storage, and other IT infrastructure
- Monitor and maintain the performance of systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their technology needs and requirements
- Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes
- Implement security measures to protect company data and systems
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and performance
- Provide technical support and training to staff as needed
